  • Kids stay hungry at the meets. Be sure they have plenty of healthy snacks and water. If you plan to purchase snacks and water from the concessions stand, consider stocking up at the beginning of the meet to avoid the kids running back and forth between every race.

  • Bring two towels for each swimmer, one to use and one to sit on.

  • The evenings can get cool, especially for wet swimmers. Even 75 degrees can feel chilly after the sun sets (and you're wet) plan to bring a sweatshirt or hoodie for your swimmer just in case.

  • Pool chairs are used for the meet. Bring your own chairs for yourself and family members coming to watch.

  • If you have younger kids and are planning to volunteer at the meet, make sure your spouse or another caregiver is there too. Some volunteer jobs require all of your attention.

  • It's a good idea to bring simple toys for the kids while they wait for their next event. Cards, coloring materials, etc. Toys with many small pieces are easily lost and no electronics are allowed.

  • The pool deck gets messy and littered fast, prompt your kids to throw their trash in the trash cans. If everyone pitches in at the end of the meet to pick up trash and replace the lounge chairs, it all gets done fast and everyone can head home at a reasonable time.

  • Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards (the length of the pool) unassisted, or 15 yards for ages 6 and under. If you live close to the pool, please walk or ride bikes. If you must drive, please carpool whenever possible, even to our pool.  At our pool, please park in the grassy area between the pool and the tennis courts. We need to leave as much parking space for the visiting team as possible.

  • Please keep your swimmer's meet attendance up-to-date on the TSA Swimteam website.  Make sure it is accurate by Sunday afternoon prior to each Tuesday meet. We understand that last minute illnesses and emergencies arise, but after Sunday afternoons, you will need to both update the website AND email the coaches. Failing to notify the coaches of an absence (or late arrival/early departure) causes chaos before the meet begins, as relays and main events all have to be reworked and all copies of heat sheets have to be edited by hand.

  • Arrival time at the meets:
  • HOME Meets:  4:45 PM (warm ups begin at 5:00 PM, but check-in is first)
  • AWAY Meets:  5:15 PM (warm ups begin at 5:30 PM, but check-in is first)

  • As soon as you arrive at a meet, swimmers need to check in and have their name and age group written on their back. Swimmers 10 & Under need to stay together in a group at all times, so we can find easily them when it is time to line up for their event. Parents are also encouraged to sit near their swimmers and to listen for their swimmers event to be called.

  • Parent volunteers please arrive at the pool no later than 5:45 PM.  Please check in with Jen Cline, our meet manager.

Crooked Creek swimmers are also encouraged to represent their team at the TSA Championship Meet on Sunday, July 21st at the Triangle Aquatic Center (just behind the Cary Towne Center mall). This is a split-session multi-team meet, meaning that 10 and under athletes will compete in the morning and 11 and ups will compete in the afternoon. Since the pool is indoors, it is less vulnerable to weather delays.
